Legislation for drone operations in Denmark
When flying a drone in Denmark, you must comply with both the common European regulations and the Danish order on drones.
There are unified regulations for drone operations across the EU. This means that as a remote pilot, you must adhere to universal flight rules applicable to all remote pilots within the EU. Additionally, you can use your Danish drone certificate in all EU member states and several EEA countries. Apart from the European regulations, you must also comply with the Danish Order on drones which is additional provisions supplementing European legislation specific for Denmark.
We have compiled an overview of all the regulations below, so you can get a clear picture:
- The European regulations for drone operations are found in Regulations (EU) 2019/947 and (EU) 2019/945.
- The additional Danish rules are specificed in the Danish Executive Order on Drones: BEK no 1649 of 2023 and in the recent changes made to BEK no 1649 of 2023 with the Amending Order on Drones: BEK no 527 of 2025.
