When should you register?
Anyone who owns a drone in Denmark must register as a drone operator with the Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority unless that drone is marketed as a toy or under 250 g and not equipped with a sensor. You only need to register once, even if you own multiple drones. For EU citizens you should apply and register in your home country as a registration in one EU member state is valid in all EU member states.
As a drone operator, you are responsible for:
- Having the proper certification.
- The remote pilot has the proper certification if you lent out your drone
- Ensuring the drone is registered if needed
- Ensuring the drone is insured.
- Maintaining the drone in accordance with national regulations and the drone manual.
